“Brazil once again managed to shut up the mouth of critics. The champions came back and achieved a great result. We saw how difficult is to wear a jersey of Brazil in all these years. For me, Wallace is the MVP of the whole tournament. He played well every game, taking the responsibility all the time, without hesitation…Well done” says legendary Giba!

For me its Zaytsev, FIVB managed to give the title to Brazil, well done
@BlueRedWhite yeah same here i thought it would be zaytsev
@BlueRedWhite ye such a wierd decision to give MVP to the team that won the tournament. Zaitsev would’ve won if Italy had beaten Brazil in the finals, since they dind’t Wallace deserved it, however FIBV was very smart here and payed homage to Sergio Dutra Santos for his amazing career since this is his last International tournament. Aside from that Sergio was a monster, after Lucarelli got injuried he covered the entirety of Brazils back field on servs, he was playing for 2 basicaly.
I am brazilian and I say: Zaytsev played better than Wallace in this olympic tournament.
@Ronnie-D He didn’t, Brazil won the tournament, Wallace had an awesome performance on the finals, makes no sense to give MVP to the player on the loosing team when both were realy great on the tournament as a whole.
I wonder if Giba would pick any other Opposite aside from Wallace when he is Brazilian.. Zaytsev is the most talked player above all. Everyone knows he is the best opposite.
@Jowsef Zaytsev is likely the best oposite on the world, however Wallace had a better tournament. The deciding factor was, Wallace was the main player for Brazil on the final match and Brazil beat Italy and Zaitsev, theres no way anyone in theire right mind would award Zeitsev over Wallace on the Olympics.
