The venue chosen for this meeting – attended by representatives of sponsors, partners and selected media – was the 37th floor of the Park Inn Hotel, right in the heart of Germany’s capital city, thereby enjoying a unique night view of Berlin.

As the official playing uniform for all home matches and the roster were presented, the officials got the opportunity also to introduce to the audience the two players added to the group, namely setter Sebastian Kühner and Robert Kromm, a well-known member of Germany’s national team (194 caps).

Special attention was quite evidently deserved to the campaign in the 2013 CEV Volleyball Champions League and after showing a trailer recapping the highlights of the past season, club President Kaweh Niroomand said: “I have been always jealous of VfB FRIEDRICHSHAFEN and Generali UNTERHACHING because they were competing in this league. To play some of the best teams in Europe will be an excellent way to prepare for the Playoffs of the Bundesliga but it also helps create more awareness about our club”.

This was stressed once more as Niroomand joined a press conference organized in the same venue: “We have brought together the best group we ever had” he said stressing also the real importance of keeping almost the same roster lined up last year.”

I hope that our demanding schedule in the Bundesliga where we play, right by the first week of action, VfB FRIEDRICHSHAFEN and Generali UNTERHACHING, will turn into the right way to prepare for our debut in the Champions League” added Australian head coach Mark Lebedew.

We will certainly go for the best result and try to make it through the prelims and advance to the Playoffs” concluded Niroomand.
