Koslowski explained that some players are not on the list due to injuries, some due to personal reasons, but emphasized that he might add some new names before the beginning of the 2017 FIVB World Grand Prix like opposite Saskia Hippe from Greek Olympiacos Piraeus, who will be checked by a medical staff at the end of the club season.

Kimberly Drewniok and Lisa Gründing (SC Potsdam), Irina Kemmsies and Dora Grozer (VC Wiesbaden , sister of Men’s volleyball star György Grozer), Barbara Wezorke (Rote Raben Vilsbiburg), Frauke Neuhaus (Ladies in Black Aachen), Anna Pogany (Köpenicker SC) and Lisa Stock (SWE Erfurt) are debutants in the national team.

Koslowski will gather the players for the first time on May 8 and will choose 14 to compete in the Qualifications (May 31 – June 4, Viana do Castelo/POR) for the 2018 FIVB World Championship in Japan. This will be followed by the tournament in Montreux, Switzerland (June 6-11), the 2017 FIVB Grand Prix (July 7-30) and the 2017 CEV European Championship in Baku, Azerbaijan (September 22- October 1).
