GER M: Friedrichshafen first semifinalist, Lüneburg stun BR Volleys in Game 2

No.1 VfB Friedrichshafen won Game 2 against No.8 Volleyball Bisons Bühl to close the 2017/18 German men’s volleyball championship 1. Bundesliga playoff quarterfinals with a 2-0.

Friedrichshafen advanced to the 2017/18 Bundesliga semifinals by claiming the quarterfinal series versus Bühl with a 2-0 and reaching a 37-0 record in the season.

Despite playing without their best scorer, the Pole Bartłomiej Bołądź, Friedrichshafen beat Bühl on the road in Game 2 with ease, 3-0 (25-23, 25-16, 25-16). David Sossenheimer was the best scorer on the winning side with 17 points, while Norwegian Andreas Takvam made 80% attack (12/15, 1 error). The Russian Yuriy Kruzhkov scored 10 points for Bühl.

No.2 Berlin Recycling Volleys got stunned in Game 2 by the seventh-seed SVG Lüneburg, 3-1, and will have to return to their Max-Schmeling-Halle to earn the promotion for the semis.

No.6 TSV Herrsching extended the series against No.3 United Volleys Rhein-Main as they won Game 2 in straight sets thanks to 18 points from Christoph Marks and 82% reception of their libero Ferdinand Tille (17 digs, 59% perfect).
