Savino Del Bene Scandicci grabbed first place in the 2021/22 Italian Women’s Volleyball Championship charts after sweeping Delta Despar Trentino in Round 17.
Serie A table without Prosecco Doc Imoco Volley Conegliano at the top hasn’t been seen in a long time prior to today. Thanks to a clear victory over Trentino, the 7th in a row in the competition in 2021/22, Scandicci took over the first place in the charts, replacing Vero Volley Monza there, with both being leveled for points (37). Interestingly, the world record holders for consecutive wins Imoco have fallen to 3rd place, but they haven’t played in Serie A for two weeks, having 3 matches less played than Scandicci and 2 matches less played than Monza – and only 3 points less than both.
Brazilian Ana Beatriz Corrêa ‘Bia’ and Russian-Italian Ekaterina Antropova scored 11 points apiece for Scandicci.
