ITA: Lega Pallavolo joined AIL in the National day for the fight against Leukemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma

On 21 of June it is the National Day for the fight against Leukemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma, promoted by AIL for the seventh consecutive year under the patronage of the President of the Republic.

Specifically, from 08:00 to 20:00 on Thursday, June 21, AIL numberwill be active – for hematologic problems 800-226524, the most distinguished Italian hematologists will respond (in alphabetical order: prof. Gianluca Gaidano, prof. Pietro Leoni, prof. Franco Mandelli, prof. Fabrizio Pane, prof. Pierluigi Rossi Ferrini, prof. Giorgina Specchia, prof. Sante Tura, prof. Luigi Zanesco) in order to offer all those who call the opportunity to receive information about the disease and therapy centers present all over.

Central event of the Day will be again this year, “Ithaca Dreaming“, a boat journey to sail 1,000 miles in the Adriatic Sea scheduled for June 10 to 23.

The initiative aims to promote sailing as a therapeutic method aimed at psychological rehabilitation and to improve the quality of life of patients.

The activities will continue at Manfredonia on 19th of June, Termoli on 20th of June 20, Pescara on 21st of June, Ancona on 23rd of June.

Another important event, scheduled for June 21 in Bologna, will be the ceremony for the second edition of the “… Take Action!”. Aimed at young video makers and designed to raise awareness, through the creation of a spot, among the new generations, to promote the theme of volunteerism and the importance of scientific research in the fight against blood cancer.

The National Day AIL will be achieved through the work of volunteers and the activity of the 79 provincial branches and the support of all the media.
