With the triumph Puerto Rico completes the participant field in the hemispheric competition that will be played next August, joining the United States, the Dominican Republic, Canada, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina and Peru in the women’s volleyball tournament of the Lima Games.
Pilar Marie Victoriá was chosen as the Most Valuable Player of the Qualification Tournament.
Victoria was one of the offensive leaders of Puerto Rico during the three days of competition. The outside hitter was also chosen as one of the two Best Attackers.
The lefty queen from Trinidad Tobago Krystle Esdelle, who is currently playing in Turkey, was the best opposite of the tournament.
Other Puerto Ricans selected were Neira Ortiz (Best Blocker), Karina Ocasio (Best Receiver), Wilmarie Rivera (Best Server), Natalia Valentín (Best Setter) and Valeria Léon (Best Líbero).
The other prizes were won by Trinidad & Tobago with Channon Thompson as Best Scorer and the second-best attacker, Afiya Alexander, second best blocker; Afeya Orton best digger.
