Puerto Rico continues its undefeated streak in the NORCECA Men’s Final Four by sweeping the Dominican Republic at Salvador Dijols Coliseum in Ponce. With scores of 25-20, 30-28, and 25-20, Puerto Rico now holds a 2-0 record, while the Dominican Republic has one win and one loss.
Puerto Rico dominated in attacks (47-45), blocks (9-5), and serves (4-2), committing fewer errors (19-20). Klistan Lawrence led Puerto Rico with 16 points, supported by Pedro Molina with 14 points. Henry Tapia was the top scorer for the Dominican Republic with 19 points.
Mexico Defeats Guatemala in Straight Sets
Mexico triumphed over Guatemala in straight sets, with scores of 27-25, 25-23, and 25-17, marking their first victory (1-1) in the tournament, while Guatemala remains winless (0-2).
Mexico led in kills (39-32), blocks (8-6), and serves (9-3) but committed more errors (24-21). Mauro Fuentes and Franky Hernández Milantony led Mexico with 14 and 10 points, respectively. José Pérez was Guatemala’s top scorer with 14 points.
