Iran’s memories: When Marouf was crying in locker room… (VIDEO)

This year was not so good for Iran’s male National Team. It disappointed fans at the 2015 FIVB World Cup by failing to qualify for the 2016 Rio Olympics. Still, it will have another chance at additional qualifiers, next year.

If they want to secure place at Rio Olympics, Iran will have to play like they did at the 2014 FIVB World Championship in Poland.

For the first time ever, Iran were among the best six teams in the world and they achieved it in the final round of a second stage. Iran defeated Serbia 3-1 and needed Argentina to beat USA. The South Americans did it (3-2), they eliminated US team and promoted Iran into third stage (two pools of three teams).

Iran’s players welcomed the great news in the locker room, some with a smile but some with tears, like Saeid Marouf
