In a public vote, the PZPS officials have chosen Belgian expert Vital Heynen to be the new men’s national team head coach. His contract will be valid until the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
All three candidates for this position: Piotr Gruszka, Vital Heynen, and Andrzej Kowal presented their analysis of the potential of men’s team and concepts of working with the national team on the meeting with the PZPS Board, two days ago. On the basis of materials prepared, personal presentations, interviews with candidates, and discussions, 19 members of the Board decided to entrust Poland NT to a 48-year-old Vital Heynen.
During 13 years of his coaching career, Heynen won 17 trophies:
– Belgian champion 4 times
– Belgian cup winner 5 times
– Belgian Supercup winner 4 times
– French Supercup 1 time
– German cup 1 time
– German Supercup 2 times
