Yeltsin Cup 2013: Russia leading after group stage, Poland beat Italy

Group stage was finished at Yeltsin Cup 2013 with Poland beating Italy and Russia defeating Cuba.

Poland – Italy 3-1 (25-20, 21-25, 25-21, 25-23)

The blue was defeated by Poland 3-1 (25-20, 21-25, 25-21, 25-23) in the second match of the Yeltsin Cup tournament going on in Russia.

In the second set it was more easy for the Russians. Irina Zaryazhko, which eventually became the most productive in the Russian team in this game was very active not only on the block, but also in the attack.

But in the third set, the hosts were nervous, catching up the score almost the whole time. First Cuban quickly took the lead 6-2, but Obmochaeva applied three consecutive aces.

Still at the first technical Cuban again were a little ahead, 8-7. Russian girls sometimes were not too accurate in the attack, balls flew by a few centimeters out of bounds. Therefore, Yuri Marichev decided to rest Obmochaeva, instead appeared Daria Isayeva.

Once again the end of the game was decided by Russian great feed (this time Irina Zaryazhko) – 3-0 in favor of the Russian national team.
