Poitiers, France, January 30, 2011. The current leader of France’s national league, Stade Poitevin POITIERS, plays this coming Wednesday the Russian “armada” of Zenit KAZAN for the Playoffs 12 of the 2012 CEV Volleyball Champions League. It looks like a sort of mission impossible for the home guys as Zenit is unanimously seen as one of the main favorites for the trophy having a roster filled up with international stars.

After having a tough match in the national league this past weekend with AS CANNES, Stade Poitevin POITIERS will dispose of the complete roster to challenge Zenit KAZAN after libero Carlos Teixeira and middle blocker Borislav Petrovic recovered from their respective injuries.

The match will take place at “St. Eloisports hall, not the one where the team played its home matches in the prelims, as the other, main arena is not available.

It looks like we are going to play another away match” says head coach Olivier Lecat whose Russian counterpart, Vladimir Alekno, is well-known in France having spent quite many years playing for TOURS VB as middle blocker.
