Huge interest in EuroVolley

These figures break the all-time records set two years ago as the European Championship was co-hosted by Austria and the Czech Republic. “We are evidently overwhelmed with pride for our flagship tournament is set to be aired all over the world” says CEV President André Meyer. “We have to thank our partner Infront Sports & Media that was able to seal deals with as many as 32 TV stations, something that we did never achieve in the past. This means that there is a lot of interest for Volleyball out there and that the upcoming VELUX EuroVolley 2013 will be boosting the popularity of our sport and showcasing the quality and skills of Europe’s best Volleyball players”.

“These figures do confirm that the European Championship starting this Friday in Denmark and Poland is what people call a big event” adds Mads Bang Aaen, Managing Director of the Organizing Committee in Denmark. “Volleyball fans from all over the world will be following the competition right from the start of the prelims up to the final rally of the gold medal match scheduled for September 29 at Parken stadium in Copenhagen”.

A very experienced TV production company that previously worked even at the Olympics will be responsible to provide world-class footage of the Volleyball event of the year. “A total of 14 cameras will be used at Parken stadium for the semis and final matches, i.e. as many as those that are normally used to televise a soccer match of the UEFA Champions League. This means that all the people following the Championship from home will be provided with an extensive and first-class coverage. Still I hope that as many as possible will be traveling to Copenhagen to enjoy first-hand the Volleyball experience of a lifetime” concludes Mr. Aaen.
