The trophy in the Slovakian Men’s Volleyball Championship won’t change its owners.
Niké Extraliga Muži recognized the men’s champions for the season 2021/22. After a year, the gold was defended by the players Rieker UJS Komárno. The 2nd-seed defeated regular-season winners VK MIRAD UNIPO Prešov 3-2 in the 4th match of the playoff finals and closed the series at 4-0.
Out of these 4 matches, exactly the last was of the greatest intensity. In it, Komárno rejected 3 match balls of the rivals in the 4th set to extend the encounter to the tie-break, which they took with a score of 15-9. Peter Mlynarčík top-scored the titleholders in what turned out to be a deciding match with 23 points. Emanuel Kohút served 5 aces, while Martin Turis made 79% reception (14 digs, 29% excellent).
Komárno won the ‘double crown’ this season as they already clinched Slovakian Cup.
