Six months after retiring from professional volleyball, the one-time Olympic champion Scott Touzinsky found himself a new job. And, of course, it’s volleyball related.

Scott Touzinsky, a 35-year-old ex-U.S. Men’s National Team member, with whom he won gold medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and 2008 FIVB World League, returned to the place from which he set off his volleyball career. He accepted the offer to become an assistant coach with the Long Beach State University, last season’s NCAA Championship semi-finalist.

Touzinsky successwfully wore the jersey of its volleyball team, the 49ers, from 2000-2004, leading them in kills in the last two seasons there, before he turned to pursuing professional career abroad which he spent in 13 clubs in five different countries.

Thus, Touzinsky followed footsteps of the two female colleagues, also former U.S. NT members, who joined university team coaching staffs this year – Kayla Banwarth became assistant coach at Nebraska, while Molly Kreklow moved to Missouri.
