The game got its shape right at the very beginning because the guests started very well. Throughout the match Agel had a very difficult job to get through the high blocks of the opposing team and the Czechs did worse in all fundamentals most of the time. The hosts were able to keep pace with their rival only in the first half of set 2 and 3, but they always managed to open just a small gap and then lost their strength again. VILLA CORTESE played at a higher level and did not allow the Czechs to take any point in the standings.

The match tonight was not as close like the opening match in Italy. It was difficult to score points against the physically-gifted guests – we had big problems with their tall players also in defense. Due to the great performance delivered by Bosetti the Italian vice-champions did much better than one week ago and they did deserve to win” says Miroslav Cada, the head coach of PROSTEJOV

For us it was a very difficult match because the opponent was very strong. They put us under pressure and we made a lot of mistakes, sometimes a few in a row. Set 1 was very clear but after that we improved our game and we even took the lead at the start of set 2 and 3. However, VILLA CORTESE always stepped up.  We gave our maximum and we kept fighting hard until the end, but it was not enough” stresses Agel PROSTEJOV German-born opposite Saskia Hippe.

I am very happy with our 3:0 win, and also with our performance. We slowed down our tempo only in set 3, but, fortunately we got back on track very soon. Tonight I expected a better game from our opponents, I thought their performance would be similar to what they did in Italy, but we did not give them many opportunities” comments Giovanni Caprara, the head coach of VILLA CORTESE.

We did very well. We opened strongly and our game was very good until the very end even though we were worried about this away match. But our performance was excellent and we managed to win without problems” adds Katarina Barun, the captain of Asystel Carnaghi, that with this result could celebrate its third win out of four matches played so far in the competition.
