Canada Retains Title in Men’s Pan American Volleyball Cup

Canada defeated the United States 3-1 (26-24, 26-24, 26-28, 25-19) in the gold medal match of the Men’s Pan American Volleyball Cup. Canada’s Isaac Heslinga led with 16 points, supported by captain Jesse Elser (15 points) and Jordan Canham (14 points). The U.S. top scorer was Gabriel García with 20 points, followed by Daniel Wetter (11 points), and Cooper Robinson and Brett Wildman (9 points each).

Jesse Elser received the Most Valuable Player award and Best Server award, scoring 78 points in the tournament. Jackson Howe was named Second Best Blocker and Max Elgert Best Setter. Other individual honors included Dusan Bonacic of Chile as First Best Attacker, Colombia’s Daniel Aponza as First Best Blocker, Cuban Víctor Andreu as Second Best Attacker, and Carlos Santana as Best Opposite. Mason Briggs of the U.S. was Best Receiver, Gabriel García Best Scorer, and Enger Mieses of the Dominican Republic Best Libero and Best Digger.
