Francisco Hervas was recently appointed head coach of Spain women’s national team thereby replacing Gido Vermeulen who went back to his home country, the Netherlands, to mentor there the orange ladies captained by Manon Flier.

Hervas is considered one of the most experienced and successful Volleyball coaches in Spain, having already mentored the ladies of the national team from 1997 to 2000. “This is another step to fulfill our intention to appoint Spanish coaches to top positions in our national teams” says the President of the Royal Spanish Volleyball Federation and CEV Vice President, Agustin Martin Santos. “Hervas has an unmatched record and an extensive international experience. His personality, experience and hard working attitude make him the ideal person for this job” he continues.
