Romanians came out strong from the start destroying Tirol by 14-25 in the first set. Same story in the following set where Tomis Constanta dominated and led the whole time and at the end got the 2-0 lead by beating Tirol 25-21. Hosts tried everything, rotated much but in the end succeeded in getting that one set just to satisfy their pride. Fourth and final period was no contest and Romanian team walked of with the 1-3 victory (16-25).
Israel Rodriguez was the game’s top scorer with 19 points followed up by Jimenez who scored 15.
Piacenza had somewhat a hard time getting their first win in Champions League. ACH Volley proved that they can compete with one of the best teams in the world. Still firepower that Piacenza has was just a bit too much for Slovenians to handle.
Allesandro Fei with 17 points , Zlatanov with 16 and Vettori with also 16 were all on top of their game and when all of them produce it’s hard to beat Piacenza. After four sets and 106 minutes of play, Piacenza got their three points 3-1 (25-18, 24-26, 25-14, 25-23).
