Why do not you play for Hungary anymore?
“I`m not playing for the national team because during the summer preparation I got two injuries of ankles and the recovery still went on in September and October. I could not take risk any more because I must protect my body. In the same time I got a very serious position in Crvena zvezda – I’ve became captain and needed to take more responsibility. Also I couldn`t take any risk not to play this season because I`m the first setter. It`s not emotional decision but professional.”
What do you think about Hungarian volleyball?
“Hungarian level of volleyball is much below the level in Serbia, and we all know that Serbian league is the youngest in Europe. Year after year we have better players, but I really don’t know why those players don’t play for the National team. That was the main reason why I accepted to play abroad especially because I didn’t have a chance to improve myself in Hungary.”
Volleyball is not a popular sport in Hungary, but you still decided to play it?
“It’s interesting, I was swimming, playing rhythmic gymnastics and there was a teacher in secondary school who told me that I have a body for volleyball and that was the main reason. My friends also liked swimming and gymnastics more but I did not decided to play volleyball until high school. At the same time I was playing flute, music, going on foreign language classes, I done everything in my life and volleyball became serious when I was 16 years old and became a member of junior Hungarian volleyball team.”
What is your next goal?
“In next couple year I will love to win some high rating league, for example to be a champion of Italy, Turkey, Poland … to be a member of important team and lead that team as a setter. To play and enjoy but with success.”
You are always open when it comes to people?
“Yes because I`m curious and people are always kind and you can always learn something from them. I like to have fun with them, to smile together, to sheer something with each other, to hang out, I think that’s very nice. Just to show that we are also normal people. Especially I like to hang out with children.”
What do you miss the most from “regular life”?
“I`m from Budapest and the Budapest has very rich social life, I miss art, opera, theater, museum, traveling, but without volleyball, I miss colors, material, clothes, dressing up, fashion ..many things.”
How you react when someone tell you that you are beautiful?
“I shame and then thank them. I think that everyone is beautiful on their own way. If you are yourself and if you show your feelings, if you are you, than you are also beautiful. Everyone can smile, have fun, tell something with eyes or have body language and for me that is beautiful.”
For the end, what do you think about our website WorldofVolley?
“It’s amazing. It’s good because we can find any information. It seems that is a huge work behind of that. If I`m in position to know what is happening in a different kind of league for sure I will check WorldofVolley site because it`s updating all the time.”
