“We are of course very disappointed since the European Championship qualification did not turn out as we had hoped,” Mikael Trolle said. “Therefore the European League is a great opportunity for us to show where we stand on the European arena. We have a very young and talented team and the European League will provide the stage for these players to shine. The first round with Slovenia will be a very tough challenge for us but this will help us get into the rhythm and then set our sights on the future. We had some close matches with teams that eventually qualified for the Finals of the European Championship, so I do believe that we stand a fair chance of having a good campaign in the European League.”
“A lot of the most experienced players on our team won’t participate in some of the European League matches,” Peter Trolle Bonnesen added. “So it is time for us, young guys, to take some responsibility and prove that we can fill the gap that our fellows will leave one day. I am sure that we can do that. We are going to show that we have the ability to play at this level.”
