After winning the gold medal in the Spanish Championship with Logroño this season, a 42-year-old libero López said goodbye to volleyball and accepted to become the coordinator of all youth categories of this club.
Throughout her rich career, López has played in numerous clubs: Hernani Kirol Elkartea, CVA Toledo, Ciudad Real, Vitória SCV, Club Deportivo Ávila Vóley, CV Diego Porcelos, Fígaro Peluqueros Haris, CV Miranda, Avarca de Menorca, Haro Rioja Voley and Naturhouse Ciudad de Logroño.
As for trophies, López collected 25: ten in national championship, eight in the national Cup, six in national Supercup and a one in the CEV Champions League with Fígaro Peluqueros Haris (ex-Tenerife Marichal) which was the gold medal ever for any Spanish Women’s team in this tournament.
López was voted best libero in the Champions League twice and best receiver of the tournament once. Locally, she was awarded national championship MVP one-time and national Cup MVP five times.
She wore the jersey of the Spanish NT from 2001 to 2014.
