The spectacular Dominican blocking was again their weapon to conquer the title, with a wide advantage of 12-5. Argentina did better in the attack by 52-53 and service 7-10. The Dominicans had 17 unforced errors against 26 by Argentina.
Captain Natalia Martinez, with 18 points, was the top scorer of the winners including 13 attacks, 4 points in service and a block; also the opposite Yanlis Feliz contributed 15 points to the winning cause, the attacker Madeline Guillen contributed 14 and center Sthefanny Gonzalez 13. For Argentina, the opposite Melisa Corzo finished with 25 points and Candela Salinas 16.
“Argentina has a great team, very organized and well trained, we lost the first game, but we had the opportunity to study them and make a better game today,” says the Dominican Republic coach, Wagner Pacheco.
Natalia Martinez was named the MVP of the tournament.
